About Tripwire

TRIPWIRE was started back in 1992 as a print magazine that looked at comics and music, which included reviews, features and interviews with the comic industry’s top talents; everyone from Alan Moore to Peter Milligan, Mike Mignola to Frank Miller.

After publishing 49 issues, including three full-colour editions on the UK newsstand in 2003, and a 10th anniversary book in 2002, we ceased publication in 2003.

After a four-year hiatus, we brought TRIPWIRE back as a glossy, high production value Annual in 2007. We continue to cover comics, TV, Film, animation and more with the likes of Matt Groening, Jeph Loeb, Alan Moore, Mike Mignola, Mike Carey, Steve Niles and Paul Cornell in our pages.

The Annual for 2008 features Michael Moorcock, Matt Groening and David Cohen on Futurama, film storyboard artist Martin Asbury, the history of Doctor Who and full hundred other pages of Movie, TV, and Comic related features, interviews and reviews.

The Tripwire Superhero special, features articles on Mark Millar & Matthew Vaughn’s newest film collaboration, an overview of comics’ Golden Age, an exhaustive review of all things Watchmen, interviews with around a dozen major comic creators and so much more.

Our latest publication is the 2009 Tripwire Annual which features interviews with Stan Lee, Phil Hale, Frank Quietly, and Bill Morrison. It has articles on the history of Marvel Comics, The British TV Show Being Human, the Brit Flick Moon, Vertigo’s Crime Line, Wednesday Comics and more. There are graphic novel reviews and even our Power List of 25 influential genre personalities for 2009.

TRIPWIRE looks at the intersection between comics, film, TV, animation and literature and which trends are driving the market. We have the best contacts and the best access of any magazine of this kind. Our aim over the next two years is to increase our publishing frequency and extend our market presence, offering something different for a diverse and sophisticated readership.
